Deciduous shrubs or trees. The crown is round or umbrella-shaped, and the branchlets are purple-brown with white powder. The leaves are alternate, wide ovoid to kidney-shaped, petioles are slender, purple-red. The panicles are terminal, the unisexual and bisexual flowers coexist on the same plant, the petals are yellow, and the sterile flowers have purplish red feather-like stalks persistent. The drupe is small and kidney-shaped.
